Assistant Property Manager

San Diego, CA

An innovative and growing fully integrated commercial real estate firm on the cutting edge of the life science sector is looking for a well-organized Assistant Property Manager to join their team. The Assistant Property Manager will supply support to the PM team in managing a unique portfolio of life science, industrial and office properties.

Responsibilites

  • Assist with general lease administration including Yardi input and maintaining current and organized electronic files

  • Consistently communicate with tenants and service providers

  • Collect insurance from all tenants and vendors and maintain compliance

  • Assist with various A/R and A/P input, review, and reporting

  • Prepare monthly operation summaries and ensure reporting deadlines are met

  • Prepare service contracts and schedule maintenance and small projects, ensuring appropriate communication throughout the process, and excellent follow-up

  • Assist overseeing engineers; placing work orders and tracking progress through to completion

  • Assist with budget and operating expense creation, CAM communication, and reforecasts

  • Demonstrate a vested interest in assets

  • Investigate and help solve problems with initiative while digging in and documenting details and closing the loop with all involved parties

  • Conduct routine property inspections independently and with various vendors ensuring assets are maintained at their highest level

  • Be willing to assist with acquisition efforts as needed

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Commercial Property Management experience

  • Real Estate license preferred or actively seeking license

  • Yardi experience is a plus, but not required

  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Excel

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills, ensuringthat the company is represented with professionalism

  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills

  • Able to take feedback well, using it as an opportunity to grow; unafraid of trial and error

  • Proven ability to take on complex projects, with the humility and patience to do the small, necessary tasks with extreme attention to detail

  • Enjoy the freedom to own projects and work autonomously

  • Excellent problem solver who can tackle any problem encountered

  • Highly organized and have the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Team player with an all-hands-on-deck mentality
