The company would like to hire a General Manager for our Commercial Property Management company. The company manages shopping centers with smaller retail, restaurant, and office tenants in San Diego, La Mesa, Vista, Oceanside, El Cajon, Temecula, Murrieta, and Colton, California.

Responsibilites

The General Manager would need to supervise the problems and issues that are normal for smaller businesses in retail centers, such as expansion, signage, fair market value rent, behind in rent, options to renew, corporate leases, CAM reconciliation, homelessness, and other matters. The job duties would entail supervision of advertising, landscaping, lighting, maintenance, signage, traffic flow and tenant visibility. In addition, the General Manager would need to be available to handle emergencies when required. In general, they would like their General Manager to help improve their centers in order to increase the customer base of the tenants.

Requirements

The company is searching for a person who has at least seven years of experience as a commercial property manager, someone who can handle almost any issue associated with this type of management. The appropriate candidate would need to have experience in commercial leasing, lease interpretation, CAM reconciliation, accounting, and supervision of repair and maintenance. The General Manager would need to be capable of handling almost any issue associated with retail shopping centers.


The General Manager should be available to travel between centers on a regular basis in order to interact with tenants and to determine how best to improve the centers. In addition, the General Manager should have significant experience in supervising cost effective repair and maintenance.


The ideal candidate will need to have experience in supervising repair and maintenance work by various contractors, such as HVAC, plumbers, Landscapers, Grease Traps, roofing, and other repair supervision issues. The manager needs to select the most reliable and cost-effective contractors. There will be an Assistant Property Manager to handle most of the details of management. The General Manager and the Assistant Manager will be the intermediary between the owner and the tenants. A Bachelor’s degree is required.
