Property Manager

San Diego, CA

A private commercial real estate firm specializing in the management of commercial real estate is looking for a Property Manager for their portfolio of multifamily, industrial, retail and mixed use assets. The manager will be outgoing, friendly, energetic and a self-starter. He/she will be involved in all day-to-day management of the portfolios, including tenant relations, repairs and maintenance, and capital projects. The Property Manager should have strong experience with commercial leases and be able to execute and manage service requests and landlord duties in accordance with the existing lease and property-level budgets. The manager will assist in the preparation of the annual budget, reviews of monthly financial packages, and provide professional reporting to landlord clients and investors.


  • Manage a portfolio of retail, light-industrial, mixed-use and multi-family properties

  • Ensure compliance with Property Management Policies and Procedures, codes, regulations and government directives

  • Answer calls and provide customer service to tenants through timely response to all requests/problems

  • Monitor collections and coordinate default proceedings

  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets including the bidding of all service contracts

  • Provide comprehensive property inspections for properties with monthly and annual reports

  • Ensure property and lease files are maintained and kept up to date

  • Some travel is required

  • Provide support for other departments of the firm


  • Minimum of 1-3 years of commercial real estate property management experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related discipline preferred

  • Real estate license preferred

  • Familiarity with commercial property management processes and systems including service request tracking and critical lease data

  • Must have strong work ethic, strong interpersonal skills, and be proactive

  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
