Senior Investment Analyst/Associate

San Diego or San Jose, CA

A company that provides private equity investment, development and asset management services within the real estate sector is looking for a Senior Investment Analyst/Associate to join their acquisitions team. The Senior Investment Analyst plays a key role in all financial aspects of the acquisition, financing and capitalization process for the Investments team. Utilizing their exceptional financial acumen and communication skills, the Senior Investment Analyst will assist in analyzing financial statements and reports, developing custom Argus and Excel models and investor presentations for potential acquisitions and owned assets.

Responsibilites

  • Performs the detailed underwriting of potential acquisitions

  • Review and analyze financial statements and reports

  • Prepare property level financial models and reports

  • Assist with budgeting and market research tasks

  • Develop financial models in Excel and Argus

  • Conduct thorough research of historical financial data

  • Explore investment options and present risks and opportunities

  • Compare anticipated and actual results, and identify areas of improvement

  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and investment decisions

  • Assist in property due diligence

  • Assist in preparing quarterly and annual investment reports, valuations, and projections

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and modeling

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field

  • Relevant certification (e.g., CFA/CPA) is a plus

  • Ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

  • Demonstratable strategic thinking skills

  • Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Understand key Real Estate business drivers

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Argus
